The Support Program for Sustainable and Equitable Fiscal Policies in Colombia obtained a loan for 500 million dollars from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) with the objective of boosting equity and long-term fiscal and environmental sustainability.

This program seeks to consolidate a more equitable and effective tax system and accelerate the environmental and decarbonization strategy of the Colombian economy. It also aims to contribute to overcoming the gender gaps that accentuate social inequality, by including measures to identify and address gender biases in tax regulations, generate tax statistics and prepare public policy proposals that identify and correct these gaps. In addition, it will promote fiscal measures that discourage the use of fossil fuels and other products that degrade the environment.

The loan has a repayment term of 19 years, a grace period of six years, and an interest rate based on the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR).
