IDB Invest and the non-profit organization “We Mean Business Coalition” created a regional program to raise awareness about the free tools, resources and training sessions available for Latin American and Caribbean small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to begin their journey to net zero emissions, through the “SME Climate Hub”.

The “Latin SMEs Climate Hub Program” consists of virtual and in-person events that bring together SMEs to learn and discuss best practices to measure and manage emissions across sectors such as mining, services, transportation and technology. Among the free-tools available, it is included the “Business Carbon Calculator”.

Regional corporations encouraged 88 of their small business partners and suppliers to join the program. SMEs from the following corporate networks participated: UNACEM, Entel Perú and Aceros Arequipa de Perú; ArcelorMittal of Argentina; and Calox from Costa Rica, among others.
