Argentina’s Ministry of Economy completed the first issue of a sovereign sustainable thematic bond. The total amount awarded reached $40,837 million in cash value. This is an important milestone in the implementation of the Sustainable Finance Strategy. The issuance implies the commitment to apply the funds raised to the financing of green and/or sustainable programs during fiscal year 2024, in accordance with the Sustainable Financing Framework approved by Resolution 1643/2023. The funds raised will be used in equal parts to finance the Hydraulic Infrastructure Development program and the Conectar Igualdad program. The works to be financed are the San Javier – Tostado Aqueduct, in the north of Santa Fe, and the Colorado River Aqueduct, in the north of Santa Rosa, La Pampa.
