12/12/2023 Since 7 months

During the COP28 held in Dubai, Chile and Switzerland signed a climate cooperation agreement until 2030 that will allow the international transfer of emissions reductions between both countries, enabling the mechanism established in the Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement (referring to modalities of bilateral collaboration).

The bilateral agreement consists of conceptual and financial support for the development of renewable energy and methane capture programs in sectors such as electromobility, waste management, energy efficiency or energy storage, accelerating the decarbonization process of Chile’s energy matrix.

It is estimated that Chile will benefit from direct investments with a potential of 100 million dollars, improving its inhabitants’ life quality and advancing in compliance with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
