IDB Invest expands its sustainable bond offering in Latin America and the Caribbean with two local currency issuances

IDB Invest has successfully issued two new sustainable bonds in local currency (Mexican pesos and Colombian pesos). The first bond was 3-year term bond worth 2,500 million Mexican pesos (equivalent to approximately 150 million dollars) placed in the Mexican market (BIVA Stock Exchange). While the second bond was 6-year term bond worth 40,000 million Colombian pesos (equivalent to approximately 10 million dollars) listed in the London Stock Exchange.

Investments banks accounted for 70% of the total amount issued, followed by pension funds (21%) and banks (9%). The proceeds will support access to inclusive financing and provide technical and financial support for critical transportation, renewable energy and telecommunications infrastructure projects, as well as innovative and environmentally sustainable corporate projects.
