Votorantim Cimentos, the largest cement company of Brazil and the eighth largest in the world, has placed 10-year term Sustainability-Linked Bonds (SLB) in the international market (Canada) for a principal amount of 500 million dollars.
The bonds will have an environmental performance indicator (KPI) related to (i) scope 1 net CO2 emissions intensity (in kg CO2/ton of cementitious product) and (ii) thermal substitution (in %), demonstrating Votorantim Cimentos’ commitment to the decarbonization process, in line with the implementation of its sustainability goals to be achieved by year 2030. The bonds are characterized as SLB under the principles established by the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA).
