Bolivia will receive a 40-million dollars loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to support the Land Administration Program for Sustainable Rural Development, whose objective is to strengthen the legal security of rural property, enhance sustainable land use and boost the efficiency of the cadastral system.

The program will include: i) institutional strengthening and consolidation of the national land management system; ii) updating the legal framework, including rules for the resolution of conflicts related to land ownership; iii) modernization of the information systems of the National Agrarian Reform Institute (INRA), and digitization of its files and records; iv) reduction of deforestation and land use change in areas included in the environmental and rural cadaster.

The loan has a 24.5-year repayment period, an 11.8-year grace period, and an interest rate based on the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR).
