04/19/2024 Since 4 weeks

The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) of Brazil has approved resources in local currency equivalent to nearly 22 million dollars from the Amazon Fund for two new projects aimed at indigenous communities in the nine states of the Legal Amazon, in line with the guidelines of the National Policy for Territorial and Environmental Management of Indigenous Lands (PNGATI).

The first projects, called “Indigenous Networks of the Amazon” and proposed by The Nature Conservancy Brazil (TNC Brazil), aims to train approximately 1,700 indigenous people in several topics from public policies to financial management and communication. On the other hand, the “Dabucury Project” presented by the Coordination of Ecumenical Services (CESE), will support 60 indigenous territorial and environmental management initiatives, through calls for proposals.
