Comerc Eficiência, a company that provides energy efficiency solutions controlled by Comerc Energia Group, has received financial support from the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) of Brazil for an amount in local currency equivalent to 15 million dollars, with the aim of promoting greater energy efficiency through projects related to the adoption of national high-efficiency equipment, the updating of lighting systems with LED luminaires and the installation of services and automation and control systems.

About 35% of BNDES’ financial support corresponds to resources from the Climate Fund by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Brazil. These resources will be used to implement energy efficiency solutions for up to ten projects in high consumption sectors such as industry, retail, and public services in commercial buildings. It is estimated that the initiative will avoid up to 59 thousand tons of CO2 equivalent, contributing to the goals established in Brazil’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).
