Brazil will improve access to housing for vulnerable people in the State of Paraná with IDB support

Brazil will receive 150-million dollars loan from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), aimed at improving the life quality of socially vulnerable population exposed to the impacts of climate change in the State of Paraná. It represents the second operation under the framework of the Conditional Line of Credit for Investment Projects (CCLIP) related to the ProMorar program of the Brazilian Government.

The project consists of the construction of approximately 5,600 homes for vulnerable families. Additionally, the project will reclaim unoccupied areas with high climate risks by developing and implementing plans for restoring and protecting the environment, prioritizing nature-based solutions.

The loan has a 24.5-year amortization period, a 6-year grace period and an interest rate based on the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR).
