The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) will disburse an amount of 250 million dollars to support the planning, management, monitoring and financing processes of climate action in Colombia. The disbursement is part of the Development Policy Operation in support of Climate Action and Energy Transition.

The proceeds will be used to improve environmental sustainability in areas of high biodiversity importance through the development of key policies that will enable Colombia to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Additionally, the operation contemplates the creation of a regulation committed by Colombia within the framework of the Paris Agreement, and the promotion of innovative economic instruments to cover climate financing gaps.
