Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) is expanding its data analytics capabilities with the launch of a Social and Sustainable Bonds Database (SnS DB), in line with the diversification of the labeled bond market and complementing the existing Green Bonds Database. CBI reported a cumulative total issuance of 520.5 billion dollars in sustainability bonds and 538.8 billion dollars in social bonds, by the end of year 2021.

The new SnS DB (and its methodology) aims to identify and document credible issuances, promoting market integrity and transparency. The SnS DB covers two general debt themes based on the projects/activities financed: Social and Sustainability Use of Proceeds (UoP) Bonds, and Yield-Linked Bonds, primarily Sustainability-Linked Bonds (SLB).
