CMPC, a Chilean company dedicated to the production and marketing of wood, pulp, paper, tissue and other related products, has announced the issuance in international markets of a new green bond linked to sustainability goals for an amount of 500 million dollars. Since year 2017, CMPC placed fifteen green-label operations, therefore accounting for 75% of the company’s debt now being sustainable.

The funds will be used to finance or refinance so-called green projects. Additionally, CMPC must meet certain sustainability objectives within the agreed deadlines, monitored through Key Performance Indicators and Sustainability Performance Objectives.

The 10-year bond achieved a coupon rate of 6.173%, equivalent to 185 basis points over the reference US Treasury Bond.
