Colombia publishes new regulations to promote electromobility
04/10/2024 Since 3 months

Through Resolution N° 40123/2024, the Ministry of Mines and Energy of Colombia establishes the interoperability conditions for public access charging stations for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

The stations will have the obligation to clearly inform users the prices for charging, parking and other associated costs, displaying these details in a disaggregated and visible manner. Additionally, progress will be made in the development of the platform called “CargaME”, a geographic information system that will enable service providers and charging point operators to report information about the stations, including details such as location, capacity, rates, communication protocols, among others. Therefore, the Ministry promotes electromobility, promotes information transparency and encourages energy democratization.
