Common Approach to Measuring Climate Results
04/20/2024 Since 4 weeks

IDB Invest and other twelve Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), following their commitment at COP28, released a document with a first common approach to measuring climate results. The MDBs’ common approach aims to foster consistency and comparability across MDBs in climate results measurement and to contribute to international efforts to establish standardized frameworks for assessing climate progress and guiding future climate action.

The common approach consists of three levels: i) global and country context; ii) results from operations, in terms of a) adaptation and resilience, b) mitigation and GHG emissions, c) country and client transition support; and iii) institutional efforts. It reflects a bottom-up approach that links MDB finance and wider resources to results from operations to global and country progress.
