The United Nations Environment Program Financial Initiative (UNEP-FI), the Colombian bank Davivienda and the insurance company Seguros Bolívar hold a regional roundtable meeting in Colombia to promote sustainable finance initiatives, with the participation of banks, insurance companies, governments, investors, support institutions, academics and civil society from the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region.

The meeting will address the challenges of sustainable finance and the solutions that contribute to the energy transition, productive transformation in a fair and orderly manner, climate resilience and the protection of natural capital; including: the setting of priorities, public-private coordination, the exploration of new financial instruments and regulations.

Davivienda will share its experience with the issuance of the first gender social bond tied to results in the world, an instrument that has allowed it to help close the gaps in women’s access to the purchase of social housing and financing for their SMEs. On the other hand, Seguros Bolívar will participate in another panel presenting its experience in inclusive insurance, which seeks to strengthen the resilience and adaptation capacity of those most vulnerable to climate risks.
