The IDB and ALIDE have been working to significantly expand the action of NDBs to make them truly greener and aligned with Paris. To enhance this initiative, the IDB and ALIDE announced in the framework of COP27 the creation of a Working Group on Alignment to the Paris Agreement (WGPA) for public banks. The Working Group is expected to be a collaborative and interactive space that will allow members to learn what the Paris Agreement implies and its added value for their mandate, how to integrate this commitment into their strategies and operations, and design a roadmap that will guide them in building their own business model to walk this path under a phased approach and adapted to the reality and context of each country and NDB institution. The ultimate goal is to achieve a virtuous circle of learning that translates concretely into the achievement of results.

In this context, the First Meeting of the Working Group on Alignment to the Paris Agreement for Public Banking in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) was held.
