The Government of Colombia, through the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, has announced a financial cooperation with the European Union (EU) for an amount of 10.5 million euros over the next three years. The objective is to strengthen the country’s environmental and climate projects and goals, contributing to the fight against climate change, the protection of biodiversity and the dignity of communities.
The financial support will allow the development of policies, programs and projects that protect the ecosystems and communities of the 13 strategic ecoregions of the country. Additionally, within the framework of the international cooperation, the Government of Colombia will commit to achieve the goal of zero net deforestation by 2030.
