The Ecuador Verde project was presented by the European Union (EU) together with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in coordination with state entities, including the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries (MPCEIP) and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Ecological Transition (Maate).
This project is part of the European cooperation strategy Global Gateway, which is materialized in Ecuador with the initiative “A green pact for Ecuador”. This effort seeks to generate enabling conditions for the transition policy through legal frameworks, commitments with the productive private sector and the promotion of sustainable financial mechanisms.
Through this initiative, nations join efforts to address the impact of climate change through the decarbonization of the world’s industrial sectors.
To this end, the national government assures that it is working on the implementation of public policies aimed at the transition to a green economy, with solid regulatory frameworks that encourage companies to adopt more sustainable practices, to assume environmental responsibilities, such as the reduction of the carbon footprint, and to invest in climate solutions that contribute to the country’s wellbeing.
