GRI publishes new disclosure standard
01/25/2024 Since 10 months
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has released its new “GRI 101: Biodiversity 2024” Standard (updates and will replace GRI 304: Biodiversity 2016) that sets a new global benchmark in accountability and disclosure on biodiversity impacts.
Some of the key improvements in the new Standard include: i) full transparency throughout the supply chain; ii) location-specific reporting on impacts; iii) new disclosures on the direct drivers of biodiversity loss; iv) requirements for reporting impacts on society.
The new Standard will be formally in effect for reporting on January 1st 2026, meanwhile over the next two years, GRI will pilot the use of the Standard with early adopters.
