Aqua Capital is a private equity firm that manages investments in innovative, transformative and sustainable businesses in the agriculture and food value chain in the Americas. IDB Invest has committed an equity investment of up to $10 million in the company’s Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture and Food (Aqua Capital Fund III LP).

The Fund’s objective is to make equity or equity-linked investments along the value chain in the agribusiness and food industry, with a focus on sustainable and transformative businesses and emerging technologies. It is expected to contribute to global food security with at least 80% invested in the region.

The fund manager will promote digitalization, sustainability, climate change mitigation, regional integration and knowledge sharing in the agribusiness and food industry by combining equity investment and strategic expertise to drive local and international expansion of portfolio companies and increase operational efficiencies.

IDB Invest will provide advisory services aimed at knowledge sharing and capacity building within the Fund and its portfolio companies to incorporate key climate and sustainability actions into their day-to-day business.
