Panama presented a Guide of Good Practices for Business Sustainability, as part of the national objective of promoting “a true sustainable development” of the country leveraged on the circular economy.

The guide “is a general framework of reference, with a voluntary, non-binding character, for the efficient management of water, electric energy, emissions, for the integrated management of solid waste and green businesses,” said the national director of environmental performance verification of the Ministry of Environment.

The guide was prepared by the Ministry of Environment “in response to the concern of the business sector about how to move towards the circular economy if Panama still does not have a national strategy” in this regard. But the country is advancing in the process of moving towards the circular economy, and this guide is a boost.
