Santiago Stock Exchange and Climate Bonds Initiative create alliance to promote green bonds in Chile

The Santiago Stock Exchange and the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) have agreed a strategic alliance for climate change solutions that seeks to contribute to the promotion and development of green bond standards to move towards a low-carbon economy.
CBI officials stressed that more than USD 90 trillion needs to be invested in shifting the global economy to zero carbon and climate resilient over the next 30 years, with around 70% of that investment required in emerging economies.
Other stock exchanges participating as Climate Bonds partners include the Borsa Italiana, Deutsche Böerse, Luxemburg Green Exchange, Nasdaq Norway, Swiss Six Exchange, Taipei Exchange and the Bolsa de Valores de Panamá – Latinex.
