Argentina to Improve Housing for Vulnerable Families with IDB Support
03/29/2023 Since 1 year

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has granted a loan to the Government of Argentina aimed at improving social integration and housing conditions for vulnerable households in the country. The loan, for an amount of 150 million dollars, presents a 25-year repayment period and a 5-year grace period.

The project seeks to strengthen institutional management capabilities in informal settlements and foster habitat improvement, including the construction of potable water and storm drainage networks, installing street lighting, or distributing electricity in vulnerable neighborhoods. It is estimated that the program will benefit more than 8,000 vulnerable households in and around low-income neighborhoods. The IDB will also provide support for studies to identify gaps in social services and define measures to expand their coverage.
