Cementos Argos, a private cement and concrete producer with operations in Colombia, the Caribbean, Central America and the USA, has obtained a loan linked to its sustainable performance from Banco de Bogotá, for an amount in local currency equivalent to nearly 70 million dollars.
The loan contemplates a potential gradual reduction in its interest rate subject to the fulfillment of two indicators:
• Net specific CO2 emissions: reduction of scope 1 CO2 emissions with a goal of 523 kg of CO2 for each ton of cementitious material by the year 2030.
• Sustainability evaluated suppliers: Cementos Argos must evaluate the social, economic/government and environmental practices of its suppliers to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in their management.
The loan has a 60-month term and a 24-month grace period.
