Latin America and the Caribbean Sustainable Debt State of the Market 2022
Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI), supported by the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB), published the third edition of its sustainable debt market report for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The document includes an overview of key policy developments, trends, guidance, and growth opportunities for sustainable finance in LAC for year 2022.
IDB Invest issues green bond to support sustainable management of natural resources
IDB Invest issued a 15-year green bond supporting the sustainable management of living natural resources and land use, for an amount equivalent to nearly 33 million US dollars. The proceeds will support various projects aligned with the Green Bond Categories in IDB Invest’s Sustainable Debt Framework.
Sustainable Debt Market Report – First Half 2023
Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) has published its sustainable debt market report for the first half of 2023 (H1’23). Aligned Green, Social, Sustainability, Sustainability-Linked and Transition (collectively GSS+) finance volumes reached 488 billion dollars in H1’23 (-15% YoY), surpassing the accumulated 4 trillion dollars milestone.
BCRA promotes survey to assess exposure and resilience of the financial system to climate change-related risks
The Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA) will promote a data collection process that will allow assessing the exposures and resilience of the Argentine financial system to climate change-related risks. The local survey will focus on the group of the largest financial institutions (18 Group A banks) and will cover a sample of just over 1,000 companies that take financing from the financial system.
Mexican Stock Exchange launches new financing instruments that promote ESG criteria
The Mexican Stock Exchange Group (BMV) offers several alternatives to facilitate the transition towards a more sustainable environment, through products such as the Capital Development Certificates (CKDs) and the Investment Project Certificates (CERPIs) that promote the incorporation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria.

4th edition of the Finance in Common Summit
The event, which takes place for the first time in Latin America, is held from September 4 to 6, 2023 at the Cartagena de Indias Convention Center, with the support of the FICS General Secretariat and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD).
