The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) of Brazil has approved resources from the Amazon Fund, for an amount in local currency equivalent to nearly 7 million dollars, for the Territorial Management project of the Juruá River Indigenous People Organization (OPIRJ), in the municipality of Mancio Lima, located in Brazilian northwest state of Acre.

The initiative is structured into four axes of actions aimed at: i) institutionally strengthening of indigenous organizations, ii) equipment and infrastructure to reinforce indigenous action in forest protection, iii) promoting sustainable productive activities, and iv) valuing culture and indigenous traditions. It is estimated that the project will benefit 13 Indigenous Territories and 11 thousand people.
