The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) of Brazil will finance Bioo Holding S.A (controlled by Cotica Energia) for the construction of a biomethane plant to be located in Triunfo (State of Rio Grande do Sul).

The total planned investment is approximately 40 million dollars, out of which BNDES will contribute with 32 million dollars. About half of the resources provided by BNDES come from the Climate Program Fund. BNDES’ support for Bioo Holding’s venture was structured as Project Finance, a model in which the guarantees are the assets and cashflow of the venture.

It is estimated that the unit will have a production capacity of 13 million cubic meters of biomethane per year, and will avoid emissions equivalent to 14 thousand tons of CO2 annually.
